Q. Does Valley Family Center accept MediCal or insurance?
A. Valley Family Center does not accept Medical Insurance.

Q. Is Valley Family Center open on the weekends?
A. No, Valley Family Center is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We are closed on the weekend.

Q. Can I cancel my appointment on that same day without being charged?
A. All appointment cancellations require at least a 24 hour notice to Valley Family Center. If we do not receive a 24 hour notice, the session fee will still be charged.

Q. Is there a penalty for terminating my services?
A. No, there is no penalty for terminating your services, however we do ask that you give Valley Family Center at least a 24 hour notice if you wish to terminate any future services in order to close your case properly.

Q. Is Valley Family Center court approved?
A. Yes Valley Family Center is court approved and if you give us a signed consent we will work with your social worker or probation officer to provide any court paperwork needed.

Q. If I have no income can I receive free services?
A. Valley Family Center is a non-profit agency that strives to provide quality services to all people regardless of income. However, in order to do so, we must charge something for all services received. In most cases, the fee does not cover the cost of the service and we must rely on donations, foundation grants, and contributions from businesses and corporations in order to be able to provide these services.

Q. Does Valley Family Center have another location besides the one in San Fernando?
A. No, Valley Family Center only has one location which is located at 302 S. Brand Blvd, San Fernando CA. 91340.

Q. How many sessions do I need to commit to or take?
A. Each case is different so there is no set number of sessions a client must complete. The case is closed when a client decides to stop coming or when the therapist and client both agree that they have come to a point of success.

Q. Can I make an appointment for my spouse/friend/adult children?
A. No, all appointments must be done by the individual adult requesting the services unless they are a minor (younger than18 years old) in which case a parent or guardian is to make the appointment.

Q. Can I only come every other week or once a month for my session?
A. No, all of our sessions are based on a weekly schedule and the client is expected to attend every week.

Q. What is the minimum age for a child to receive therapy?
A. The minimum age for a child to receive individual or group counseling is 5 years old.

Q. In which other languages besides English does Valley Family Center provide services?
A. All of our services are provided in both English and Spanish.

Q. Is Valley Family Center a medical clinic?
A. No, Valley Family Center is a counseling center. We do not provide any medical services.
